Plant Moves
Conducting a Plant Move is an enormous undertaking, and Strategy3 is there to help. From the moment that a client decides it is time to move until the time that the move has been completed, Strategy3 will lead the entire process.
Statement of Work
A Strategy3 client had decided to move its existing facility across state lines. Being intimately familiar with this client’s plastic injection processes and facility, it was a natural progression to give the task to Strategy3. A timetable was crafted which adhered to the move-out date which was necessary to accomplish for the client. Strategy3 not only mapped out the move, but actually planned the manufacturing schedule so that no orders would be cut short during the physical move. There was a ramp-up of inventory produced on the front end of the move, followed by eventual dual manufacturing out of both sites, ended by exclusive manufacturing out of the new facility. Ultimately, customer satisfaction remained high.
A food manufacturer had hired Strategy3 to perform due diligence regarding the possibility of combining one plant into another. It was discovered that it was feasible to operate the two facilities under only one roof. Strategy3 was put in charge of Project Managing the entire move. By splitting resources and working on both ends of the move, Strategy3 created a sending team and a receiving team. Doing this allowed both plants to synch schedules and manage through the move effectively, with no surprises. Ultimately, the two plants merged into one and operations continued effectively, while reducing overhead drastically.
